An ultimate introductory class for teens and adults interested in exploring the ballet technique, this class is focused around ballet terminology, correct alignment, and the importance of stretching and strengthening the muscles.
Introducing new technical challenges, students continue to build upon ballet vocabulary, correct and functional body placement, safe alignment, strength, transitions and musicality.
Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across-the-floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles.
Encompassing a wide range of styles, students are introduced to the authentic history of Hip Hop dance, cyphers and group work. The class explores styles of popping & locking, voguing, litefeet, and others, while celebrating expression, confidence and bold movement quality.
This class is for intermediate dancers and will expand students’ skill sets to include floor work, artistry, exploration, and technique drawing on ballet and jazz forms.
Building upon the tap vocabulary, this class focuses on musicality, rhythms, dynamics and terminology.
Students learn more complex footwork and are challenged by rhythmic concepts such as syncopation and increased speed. Emphasis is placed on clarity and precision of sound.
