AGES 13-18

With its set of core classes and class requirements, students enjoy additional performance opportunities throughout the year in addition to master classes, industry workshops, and faculty mentorship. With a commitment to cultivating the 21st century dancer, faculty work to bridge students to opportunities and networks in the professional world, providing an authentic and enriching experience.
SCHEDULE REGISTRATIONOur advanced courses, students are enrolled following evaluations by both the instructor and artistic director. In these classes, female students will also be introduced to pointe work, on a case by case basis, requiring strong consistent technique to support injury free pointe work.
*Dress code: CPD black leotard, pink ballet shoes and pink tights. Hair must be worn in a ballet bun. No jewelry.
Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across-the-floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles.
*Dress code: CPD black leotard, pink ballet shoes and pink tights. Hair must be worn in a ballet bun. No jewelry.
In our advanced courses, students are enrolled following evaluations by both the instructor and artistic director. A focus on technique, style, artistry and expression, placement in these courses may also correspond to participation in Signature, the resident performance jazz dance company of Central Park Dance.
*Dress code: CPD black leotard, black shorts or leggings, no shoes.
Hair completely off the face pulled back in a ballet bun.
In our advanced courses, students are enrolled following evaluations by both the instructor and artistic director. These classes offer a deeper look into the influence of West African dance, culture, and styles such as popping & locking, voguing, litefeet, and others. A focus on technique, style, artistry and expression, placement in these courses may also correspond to participation in Remixx, the resident performance Hip Hop dance company of Central Park Dance.
*Dress code: jogger pants, capris, sweatpants, shorts. You may include reasonable street wear as an option (ie: leggings and tank top). No hats or jeans.
This class is for advanced dancers and will expand students’ skill sets to include floor work, artistry, exploration, and technique drawing on ballet and jazz forms.
*Dress code: CPD black leotard, black shorts or leggings, no shoes.
