CENTRAL PARK DANCE PRESENTS:
THE NUTCRACKER
HELLO DANCERS,
We are reaching out to see if you are interested in taking part in our Nutcracker Experience this fall 2020 season. It will be carefully rehearsed, filmed and culminate with a video performance in a theatre.
Plans are being made now to create a safe way to keep this magical tradition in our hearts and continue dancing our favorite classical ballet parts.
*Small casts, choreography, scheduling, and staging to accommodate social distance and a safe environment.
*Most dancers will have the opportunity to perform twice within the performance; once in Act I & once in Act II. This will keep dancers from having to use a dressing room.
*No dressing rooms and waiting areas
*Costumes will be given out before the performance date and in enough time for you to clean in preparation for your performance.
SCENARIO OF PERFORMANCE/FILMING AT THE THEATRE
DAY 1: All pieces in Act I
- Students come to the theatre dressed in their costume.
- A run through for spacing is done once or twice for a particular piece.
- A performance run for filming is done once or twice.
- The dancers leave in their costumes and it will be returned to CPD later.
DAY 2: All pieces in Act II
- Same as above
AUDITION PROCESS:
An audition process will be created to keep social distance and a safe environment. Some auditions may be done virtually.
Requirements:
- Must be 4 years and older
- Must be enrolled in at least one ballet class.
VIDEO PERFORMANCE VIEWING DATES:
Second week in December.
The nutcracker experience will begin october 11, 2020
rehearsals: 10 sundays at cpd
